FAQs

  • No. CityFest is more than just an outreach event. It’s a movement comprised of moments that unite the local churches of the region around prayer, service, discipleship, unity, and evangelism. Through a CityFest Movement, strategic initiatives build toward a sustainable collaboration where unity is long-lasting and good works continue for years to come, showing what is possible if we do it together as the Body of Christ.

  • The basic timeline is one year – throughout the year, the focus is on building relationships, creating committees, and casting vision.

Foundation Stage 3 to 4 months

    Equipping & Mobilizing Stage – 3 to 4 months

    Proclamation Stage – 3 to 4 months

On-going Movement Stage – eternity and beyond

  • The model works in cities, large and small. We have seen the Church come together in unity to serve, pray, and share the Good News with their region regardless of size.

  • The essence of the Kingdom is relational. The heart of this movement is the strength and importance of relationships. This is not a movement to engage strangers but to engage your friends, family, and community.

The concept is to equip and inspire everyday believers to pray, activate their faith into good works, have conversations about faith, and invite their non-believing friends to a Gospel event. A non-believer is more likely to attend CityFest or one of the Gospel events if they are invited by a family member or friend.

Each church member is encouraged to fill out a prayer card with the names of individuals in their life who need to be saved. It is a focused effort, a tool, and a reminder to pray and invite those people to CityFest. We have seen non-believers be more comfortable with a personal invitation to a Gospel event, leading them to attend and hear the Good News. Best of all, when that person responds to the Gospel, he or she will be referred to the church you attend to continue the relational element and engage in the process of discipleship.

  • We host a Discipleship Forum led by local leaders to identify some of the best discipleship resources and practices so that everyone can be equipped in the local region to best engage in the process of discipleship with those that respond to the Gospel.

Additionally, we also provide some immediate resources in the way of Made New, a discipleship book, that guides new believers through what it means to be a follower of Jesus and we reinforce this with an online devotional that guides them through the basic tenets of the book.

The most important aspect is always connecting them to a local church. This is overseen by a local committee that ensures every single person that responds to the Gospel is referred to a local church with a follow-up plan to engage that new believer. With the local churches, we also provide tools for discipleship (i.e. Alpha, Organic Outreach, Discipleship Forum, etc.).

  • Every aspect of a CityFest movement is led by local leaders. There are 12 different committees that oversee each unique aspect of this movement. Each of those committees is made up of local Pastors, Business Leaders, and Non-Profit Leaders that are passionate about that specific area. Local leadership is critical in ensuring the sustainability and health of the ongoing movement.
